The Arrow Heights Organ Transplant Fund, AHOTF, is a special ministry of Arrow Heights Baptist Church, Broken Arrow Oklahoma. It is dedicated to assist people in need of organ transplants with transplant-related costs. These costs can be the result of a pending or former transplant. One’s religious preference is not considered when offering assistance. AHOTF was established when a church member learned of his need for a transplant. When word spread of the tremendous expense involved, other members searched for ways to help them. The magnitude of this need was realized and AHOTF began. Its primary goal is to raise money to assist others in this difficult situation. These funds help with costs not covered by government or insurance programs. AHOTF has had the privilege of helping transplant recipients of various ages. Over $200,000 has been distributed to those who would not have been able to live without a transplant. AHOTF attempts to help people beyond a one-time grant with any ongoing transplant-related medical needs. While AHOTF is administered by a committee of members from Arrow Heights Baptist Church, applicants do not have to be a member of the church to receive help. One’s religious preference is not asked when applying for support. AHOTF raises most of its money through various fundraisers held throughout the year. The largest fundraiser is the New Life Bazaar, which is held each spring. (See New Life Bazaar for more details.) Donations are also accepted, often in memory or honor of loved ones.
